Scavo Glass
Scavo Glass
This tecnique is called “frosted glass” and it was introduced in the early ’50 in the island of
Murano by some glass artists in order to obtain an archeological effect typical of objects found underground after a very long time.
During the manufacture of the glass item a mixture of several powders, by the glass artist
still kept secretly, is fused at a temperature of about 800°C on the surface of the glass object.
